[From The East Valley Tribune]

Sam Huntington, who plays the cursed werewolf Josh Levison on “Being Human,” feels very blessed these days.

“I told my wife the other day that I feel so relieved, grateful and blessed that we have two beautiful children,” says the 29-year-old New Hampshire resident. “I have this amazing wife. I have done something amazing things, but this is the best.”

The couple have a month-old daughter and a son who is nearly 3. He’s painting the picture of domestic bliss during a phone interview. His character’s lot in life is a whole lot darker and menacing.

The season finale of “Being Human” airs at 9 p.m. EDT Monday (Syfy).

This show, about a werewolf, vampire and ghost sharing a loft and their personal woes together, is adapted from a British series of the same name. It’s one of the channel’s biggest scripted hits, drawing close to 2 millions viewers weekly.

Happiness has eluded Huntington’s onscreen alter ego so far. Along with the whole werewolf thing, Josh has failed to find lasting love, much less a child, too. The desire for happiness and his deep misery have made Josh a particular favorite among fans of the show.

Huntington, who made his first movie when he was a child, has a resume full of science-fiction and fantasy projects — from the theatrical release “Superman Returns” (in which he played Jimmy Olsen) to the cult favorite “Fanboys” to his latest movie role in “Dylan Dog: Dead of Night.” The bulk of his career has been typical up-and-coming fare for actors of his age — the raunchy “Not Another Teen Movie,” “Detroit Rock City” and “In Enemy Hands.”

For the most part, though, “my career has always been shrouded with a bit of ‘nerdery.’ It’s always had a basis for fanboys,” says Huntington.

Sam Huntington - Warehouse 13Sam Huntington, who plays angsty lycanthrope Josh on Syfy’s critically acclaimed hit series Being Human, will be moonlighting on the network’s sister series Warehouse 13. So what’s his gig?

Huntington is guest starring as a young jazz musician named Ethan, who, explains showrunner Jack Kenny, “is desperate to leave his mark on the world of New Orleans jazz—even if it means a great sacrifice.”  At least he won’t be making a midnight snack out of his costars under the full moon?

“My plot on the show is really interesting because I’m a fan of the genre, so it’s cool to be on a different sci-fi show with different rules for the world,” Huntington tells us. And, he teases, “The artifact is not what you’re led to believe.” (Not Satchmo’s trumpet, then?  [Keep Reading on eonline.com]

Sam Huntington as Josh in Being HumanFrom TVEQUALS:

Syfy has ordered a 13-episode third season of its hit drama series Being Human, which returned for its second season on the network last month on January 16.

Thus far, the viewership for the second season has increased by 27% in the much-coveted age bracket of 18 to 49 year olds and by 15% in overall viewers. And, it is interesting to note that women comprise 52% of the total audience for premiee episodes this season, ‘Being Human’ remains Syfy’s most female-skewing scripted series ever.

As a refresher, ‘Being Human’ stars Sam Witwer as vampire Aidan, Meaghan Rath as ghost Sally and Sam Huntington as werewolf Josh all of whom share a Boston brownstone together as they struggle to keep their supernatural secrets under wraps and resist individual temptations, striving to live as normal of lives as possible.

According to Mark Stern, President of Original Content at Syfy and Co-Head of Original Content for Universal Cable Productions, executive producers Jeremy Carver and Anna Fricke “have taken this series to new heights this year and we’re excited to see where the third season will go.”

Sam Huntington as Josh in Being HumanLast week, in conjunction with his upcoming appearance as a guest judge on Face Off (February 8th), Sam Huntington answered questions about his Being Human character, Josh.

As the latest season’s progressed new characters have been added resulting in less time spent between the core trio, how has this change affected the dynamics between the central characters?

Sam explained, “Yes, there are a lot of new characters this year which I think broadens and makes the show more rich. But at the same time, yes, it means that the three of us, Sam and Meaghan and I, didn’t get to spend as much time with each other this year. The funny thing is it didn’t change the dynamic between the three of us at all. In fact when we do get to work together, which is less often – but still often, we’re like school girls. It’s ridiculous and it makes the silliness and stupidity on set just – inappropriate.” Chuckling, he confesses, “We love each other like siblings. I mean, it’s really truly the closest I’ve ever been with my cast mates, for sure.”  (KEEP READING)
